This is a review of the 2001 cult classic, Ichi The Killer. It's an action film about a kind of sociopathic government assassin who works for the secret service who has no memory. He develops insomnia, which leads him to recollect his childhood memories and eventually kill everyone in his life! It's amazing how original this movie is with it's themes and lack of deep moral lines or bad guys or good guys. It's very similar to the American hit "Fight Club" with David Fincher in that sense. Ichi is NOT looking to become some hero, he's just wanting to get by. It's truly an eye-opener for any fan of action or love films, especially if you're into Saw or Hostel.
